How do I know if I’m pregnant?

Are you wondering if you’re pregnant after having unprotected sex? There is a chance that you could be pregnant. To be sure, you will want to take a pregnancy test, followed by a limited ultrasound. We offer both of these pregnancy services, for free at our center. Even before taking a test, however, you can look for early signs of pregnancy which include:

Nausea
Fatigue
A missed period
Tender, swollen breasts
Frequent urination
Food aversions
Cramping or spotting

How much Does my appointment cost?

Your appointment is completely free! Our center is dedicated to ensuring every woman has access to the services that we provide absolutely free. We want you to be well informed and to know that help is available.

Can I bring someone with me to my appointment?

Yes! We understand that unplanned pregnancies can be frightening and stressful. You are more than welcome to bring someone with you for extra support.

Will my insurance company find out about my appointment?

Since we value your privacy, your appointment will be completely confidential. There is no need to present insurance information to receive our services, as all our services are completely free of charge.

Do you offer free pregnancy testing?

Yes, like all of our services, our pregnancy testing is completely free and confidential. The tests we use are hospital-grade, 99 percent accurate, and are capable of detecting your pregnancy as soon as seven days after a missed period.

When do I need to have an ultrasound?

After receiving a positive pregnancy test result, the next step is to have an ultrasound. A limited ultrasound will confirm the pregnancy and provide more information to help guide you as you consider your pregnancy options.

When Should I Take a Pregnancy Test?

It’s best to wait at least one week after your missed period for the most accurate pregnancy test results. Pregnancy tests look for hCG – the “pregnancy hormone” – to determine if you are pregnant or not. In the early stages of pregnancy, your hCG levels double every 72 hours, so you’ll receive the most accurate results after at least a week.

Do I really need an ultrasound?

Yes – an ultrasound is vital! An ultrasound not only helps confirm pregnancy but can also help determine the viability of the pregnancy. An ultrasound is an amazing tool that can be used to help you make the best decision regarding your pregnancy. We offer free ultrasounds at the PHC so you can get the answers you need to make an informed decision about your unplanned pregnancy.
